Your responses & Blue Zones...🔥

Last week, something incredible happened.

After my email about what it means to finish well, many of you reached out with stories, questions, and a lot of encouragement (you have NO idea what that means to me, thank you).

But what my good friend Connie Chren shared rocked my world.

She was fiery about finishing well and what she called "Blue Zones."

I had no idea what she was talking about. "Watch the Netflix documentary, 'Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones,'" she said.

I immediately consumed it.

What I learned set me on fire.

Blue Zones prove your most powerful season doesn't have to end at 65. Are you preparing to fall off the cliff at retirement, or enter your Power Quarter?

Blue Zones are five places around the world where people consistently live past 100—and the research reveals why.

The world’s longest-living people share common principles. But they’re not just living longer; they’re living with purpose in their later years.

These centenarians aren’t retired in the traditional sense. They’re still contributing, still connected, still growing.

I couldn’t shake the thought:

These Blue Zones are living proof of everything I believe about finishing well.

I’m 65 years old. I grew up dirt poor on the other side of the tracks in Tallahassee, Florida. I didn’t attend my first college class until I was in my 30’s.

And now, I’m in the most powerful season of my life.

That’s not supposed to happen, right?

But when I watched these centenarians in the Blue Zones—still tending their gardens, still mentoring their communities, still living with joy and purpose—I realized something:

They’re living proof that our last quarter can be our most powerful season.

This documentary is worth watching. Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • They live longer because they never stop contributing.

  • Staying connected to purpose is what keeps them healthy.

My friend Connie lives in this world and she agrees: The “cliff-edge retirement” we’ve accepted as normal? IT'S LITERALLY KILLING PEOPLE. .

The Blue Zones research proves something I’ve been saying for years: your most powerful season doesn’t have to end at 65, 75, or even 85.

OMG!

These centenarians prove that when you maintain purpose, community, and contribution—when you refuse to fall off the cliff edge—your last quarter truly can be your most impactful.

So here’s my question for you: Are you preparing yourself and your people to fall off the cliff at retirement, or are you preparing them to enter their Blue Zone—their Power Quarter?

Because I’m convinced: the same principles that help people live to 100 with purpose are the same principles that create finishing well leaders.

And I want to show you how.
